Instructions
Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
Add the trimmed green beans and stir to coat them in the oil.
Pour in the diced tomatoes, salt, black pepper, cinnamon (if using), and water. Stir well.
Cover the pot and let the mixture simmer on low heat for 30–35 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the beans are tender.
Serve warm or at room temperature with pita bread or rice.
Notes
For added flavor, you can sprinkle fresh parsley or a squeeze of lemon juice before serving. This dish tastes even better the next day!
